About Me

Landscape photography is my passion. For the last ten years, I have been traveling the world looking for great landscapes to photograph. I am lucky and grateful, yet humbled to have photographed in some of the best locations on earth. I have traveled to six of the seven continents. When asked what place is my favorite, I simply reply it is like trying to choose your favorite child.

From Bangkok in Thailand to Swakopmund in Namibia, and from above the Arctic Circle in Norway to the Antarctic Peninsula, I have sought out the most beautiful spots. I look forward to continuing the search for the best locations to photograph. Some of the world's greatest beauty exists in some of the most unexpected places.

I'm a California photographer recently transplanted to the upper midwest of the USA. Here there is a very different emphasis in photography. In California, we photographed the oceans, the mountains, and the deserts. In Wisconsin, it is lots of lakes and woodlands. I am determined to learn to capture the beauty of the woodlands and lakes in this area.

My work has earned a wide range of honors and awards. Besides receiving many ribbons and awards in the Southern California Association of Camera Clubs and in the International Exhibition of Photography at the San Diego County Fair, my pictures have been published in Landscape Photography Magazine, and I have been awarded the title of Photographer of the Year for the last two years at the local camera club.

One thing that I have learned about photography, and I joke about, is that cameras are not for taking pictures. They are for collecting the data necessary to create the images we see with our eyes. Yes, get it right in camera, and then use the digital darkroom to complete the picture.

I hope you enjoy the pictures I have posted here.
