Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, South Island, New Zealand: In the Southern Alps stands the Aoraki/Mount Cook summit. At 3,724 m (12,218'), it is the highest mountain in New Zealand. Typically shrouded in clouds, we were lucky it poked through for a short time during this early morning visit.
